Foundations of Trauma-Informed ABA Practice | RBT PDU

This 1-hour professional development training introduces Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to the foundations of trauma-informed care within applied behavior analysis. Participants will explore how trauma and chronic stress may influence behavior, learning, and engagement while maintaining an objective, function-based approach to behavior analysis. The training emphasizes the RBT’s role in creating safe, predictable, and supportive therapeutic environments without making assumptions about a client’s history or experiences. Participants will learn practical ways to incorporate trauma-informed principles into everyday ABA service delivery while working within the RBT scope of practice. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to: • Define trauma-informed care within ABA practice. • Identify behavioral presentations associated with stress and trauma. • Describe the RBT’s role in promoting safety and predictability. • Apply trauma-informed principles during daily sessions. PDU Requirements This training provides 1 hour of professional development for RBTs. To receive PDU documentation, participants must complete the required training content, achieve at least 80% on the knowledge check, and submit the PDU Completion Information form at the end of the program.
